FORTY SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN CLUSTER LEVEL SPORTS
Bangalore: Over 40 schools participated in the cluster lever sports held in the Sahakari Vidya Kendra Grounds, Padmanabhanagar. Energetic performances by the students of various schools were witnessed in Athletics, Volleyball, Throwball, Kabaddi and other sports.
The chief guest for the event was Author, Educationist, Motivational Speaker and Environmentalist US Moinuddin who spoke to some of the students and said, “If you want to win, you should have a burning desire to win the game, a mild desire will not take you towards success. Eventually, people who are tough physically and mentally win the game.”
There was also a physically challenged girl who actively participated in volleyball, athletics and other events playing with a single hand. Cluster sports secretary Bette Gowda, who is also a well known sports instructor said, “ It is very encouraging to see a physically challenged child participate and fare very well in sports; such children act as role models to every one.”
Katriguppe Kumar, Mandal President Basavangudi constituency, Narasimha Hegde, President Katriguppe ward, Lokesh Reddy, Taluk Physical education officer Bangalore South, M.C. Raju CRP Hosekerahalli cluster, Srinivas Murthy, cluster sports President, Vasantha, member, Karnataka state primary teachers association and Prasanna Murthy, Secretary St.Annes School were the other dignitaries present in the sporting event which provided a lot of excitement to the audience. The overall championship was won by Sahakari Vidya Kendra School.
