Science, Art and Craft Exhibition @ Christ School

Bangalore- 9th November 2013: RECREOS-13, Science, Art and Craft Exhibition, “If one can imagine it, we can create it” was held in Christ School (ICSE) for two days. It was inaugurated on Friday, November 8, 2013 by Rev. Dr. Abraham Vettiyankal CMI, Pro Vice Chancellor of Christ University in a solemn function held in the School campus. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the effort taken by the teachers and students and told the students to make use of the opportunity to become more creative in thinking and active in participation. The Chief Guest planted a tree in memory of Recreos -13. Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Shaju Varghese P in his message lauded the efforts taken by the teachers, parents and students and said that “I don’t claim cent percent perfection to all the exhibits, but I do claim that this exhibition has given the students rich experiences and has enriched their scientific and artistic talents”.

The exhibition showcased 253 items in the science category and 1069 items in the art and craft category. Science exhibits were displayed in twelve stalls each containing more than 20 items. There were exhibits demonstrating dialysis process, hydraulic systems, pulleys, robotics, Bluetooth robots, burglar alarms, nuclear reactor, solar power, hover craft, tornado, vibrating garden etc.

The art and craft exhibits were categorized under different sections like forest, aquariums, fruits, flower pots, vegetable baskets, ornaments, furniture, buildings and the like. The art and craft section gave a feast to the eyes of the visitors because of its variety, colorfulness and creativity.

One of the main attractions of the exhibition was “Planetsauria”, the audio-visual show of the extinguished species of dinosaurs and the internal structure of volcanoes. The show of the animated films created by our students added more enthusiasm to the visitors.

“Help me grow green” tree was an innovative idea to create awareness among the visitors about eco system. Visitors were happy to paste leaves on the tree.
