Christ School gets Centum Results in SSLC
When it’s Christ School, you expect nothing but the best. And this year too, it did not disappoint. In the recently concluded tenth standard examinations, students from Christ school Bangalore turned in an exemplary performance registering Centum results.
Results details: Total appeared: 229. Distinction 78; First class 135; Second class 16; Highest marks secured by Tobin Varkey Simson 612/625; Suhas K.C. 609/625; Shirisha B. Reddy 606/625; Apoorva V. Patil and Pavithra D. 601/625.
School principal Fr. Shaju Varghese congratulated all the students and wished them a very bright future. Father Varghese has served the Church and society in various capacities like Parish Priest, Superior and Principal across India. Before taking charge as the principal of Christ School, he had served at Chennai for a few years. Father Varghese is a MA (Christian Studies), MA (English) M.Ed; NET; PGDCA and served as Vice Principal and Administrator, for 4 Years at Chavara Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, as Principal & Teacher, 5 years at Christ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Poonamallee, Chennai., as teacher for 1 Year at Don Bosco School, Kokrajhar, Guwahati, Assam; taught B.Ed candidates at Lisieux College of Education, Coimbatore for one year and later joined as Principal of Christ Schools (both Christ State and ICSE Schools), Bangalore in 2011. Presently as head of the ICSE section of Christ School he has brought in lot of new changes to improve the quality of education.
Christ School, Bangalore, is run by the Catholic minority community, with all the rights and privileges granted by the Constitution of India and recognized but unaided by the department of education of Karnataka state. It is run by the fathers of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I) through a registered body, “Christ Educational Society, Bangalore”, whose president is the Rector of Dharmaram College, Bangalore.
Christ School is primarily meant to provide Catholic children with sound education based on religious and moral values, but is open to all, irrespective of religion, caste or community, paying respect to their religious feelings and freedom of conscience. The school aims not merely at preparing its pupils to qualify for the board examinations but also at achieving excellence in every aspect of educational activity – spiritual, academic, cultural, social and physical – by developing their character and personality through graded responsibility, personal guidance and social awareness, thus enabling them to become leaders in the intellectual and civic life of the country.
The continuous effort put in by teachers with able guidance of management has helped the school to record centum results in SSLC which is a commendable achievement by the students and the management. The school currently operates 2 campus for Kindergarten & ICSE headed by Fr. Shaju Varghese and the other campus for state syllabus headed by Fr. Augustine with total strength of 4400 students which include state and ICSE. Probably Christ school is the only school with good infrastructure, lung space, and affordable.
