According to John Devaraj, Founder Born Free Art School, “A cursory glance of daily news is a proof of what is happening around us – violence, suffering and injustice. While the vast majority prefers to remain silent, some sporadically speak out and want to take action. The irony is many of us think the ugly incidents will not strike us without realizing that anything could strike us any time”. These peace initiatives are aimed at sensitizing masses and prevail upon them to give peace a chance, and in the process be a change agent, he added.
According to Kishore Joseph, Social Activist & Director Breathe Entertainment, “As a change agent we should propagate being peaceful, being loving and calm and as Gandhi said only by being peaceful we can bring greater peace, love and wisdom to the world around us”. Further, he added, through cycling, we are trying to convey the message of peace & humanity to the world and remind their right to a peaceful co-existence, able to live a life of quality & dignity.
Commenting on cycle being a catalyst for promoting peace, Santhosh, Founder ICYCle.in, said, “The culture of cycling is fast catching the imagination of people and the humble cycle is now emerging as a vehicle for spreading social messages with telling effect. We are keen to proactively put cycle to best possible use and are happy to associate with this event and be part of the process that nurtures cyclists to be change agents in ushering in peace culture”.
