Another fine initiative : Aaryan Foundation to adopt Kullur Village

“Hello, what can I do for you?” This is a mandatory part of telephone etiquette but at Aaryan Foundation, they really mean it, and go ahead and just do it. Not surprising really, if you consider the credentials of their promoters. While Ayesha Amaan, the founder has been recently awarded the Best Woman Achiever, Youth Icon and Most Inspiring Woman Leader of India 2013, co-founder, Arun Singh will very soon be receiving the Best Entrepreneur Award from Hon’ble President of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Some time back, a Dalit Association leader, Swamy, approached Aaryan Foundation with a request to adopt a poor village called Kullur near Srinivasapur in Kolar District. The village which is home to 60 Dalit families comprising 320 individuals overall is in a state of utter neglect and totally devoid of any roads, drinking water, drainage, toilet, street lights, burial ground, etc. The Dalits are living in a pathetic condition, and stay huddled together in shared huts, which leak when it rains. Moved by the plight of the village, Ayesha and co visited Kullur to explore ways to reach out to the hapless people. Team Aaryan was shocked to see the totally pathetic living condition of the villagers. After spending half a day interacting with the Dalit families, Ayesha agreed to partially adopt the village and build a house for the poor, a public toilet, a main road, and drainage system. The Aaryan Foundation also plans to conduct health camp every three months with first aid facilities to the poor, and erect bore wells to meet the water scarcity. To empower the villagers, the Foundation will also offer training in tailoring and in the near future will start a garment unit to provide jobs to the Dalits.

For the villagers of Kullur, the Aaryan Foundation has come like a god-send and their saviour.

As part of its CSR initiatives, Arun Singh stated that Aaryan Foundation has adopted 250 HIV affected children at Aadhar House in Belgaum and started a house for underprivileged, Asha Kiran, besides helping many individuals to pursue their studies.

Wish we had more people like Team Aaryan…
