Rotary CSR Ideation Workshop on 22nd Oct.

Bengaluru, Every year, October is being celebrated as the month of “Giving” wherein a series of activities are being organized by various corporates and organisations to promote the “Joy of Giving”. Rotary International has been at the forefront of various activities focused on societal intervention to support the less fortunate across various rural sectors in and around the urban areas.

With an objective of collaborative and participative approach with corporates, Rotary Bangalore Whitefield Central (RBWC) commenced organising of a CSR Ideation Workshop since last year. The concept of an Ideation Workshop was conceived with an objective of  making a first hand assessment of the “pain points” from the experts who are working in the field of CSR as a profession. CSR is an emotional act and needs internal creativity and inspiration – it is not something mechanical.  The event organized last year, was very successful, in  generating ideas for implementation of CSR activities, to accomplish synergy and alignment between the actual needs of the society and the ‘act of giving’ from Rotary. As a result, 10 e-toilets manufactured by Eram Scientific have been installed across 5 government schools around Whitefield area, funded by Tesco Bengaluru, a leading global retailer that has technology and retail operations at its centre in the city.

The event for this year, is scheduled on Saturday 22nd October 2016 at Premier Inn Hotel , Whitefield, wherein collective brainstorming would happen between CSR representatives from various corporates and subject matter experts on six diverse subjects identified for Ideation – Health and Hygiene, Environment & Ecology, Water & Sanitation, Literacy & Numeracy, Skill Development and Inclusivity for Differently Abled. The organisations which have confirmed their participation include Akzo Nobel, Axis Bank, Billforge, Cisco, Cognisant, Danskeit, HCL, Oerlikon Balzers, Schneider Electric, Tally Solutions, TCS, Tesco, Toyota Kirloskar, etc. An online registration link for the event is uploaded at the website of RBWC www.rotary-bwc.org/csr. The result of the brainstorming session would be an action plan document based on the guidelines given by the RBWC CSR team.

RBWC is looking for partnerships from corporates in a participative and collaborative manner so as to address the needs that would be identified by the group.
