UNITED WE STAND, UNITED WE PAINT, UNITED WE MADE A BEAUTIFUL WORLD

It was a day to fly with colours at Colorothon.At Vande Matharam Colorothon – a Concept of Breathe Entertainment over 10,000 people between the ages of 6 to 80 years were painting their emotions out on January 26th at the Krishna Rao Park in Basavangudi,Bangalore. The event was organized by the Vande Matharam Social & Cultural Trust and is in aid of the IDL Foundation, a non-profit organization that works for the cause of the visually impaired.

Colorothon was one of the most glorious festivals to be hosted by the humongous Breathe Entertainment. People of all age performed and visually impaired artists actively participated in the festival leaving no boundaries for exhibiting all forms of Art, transforming the Krishna Rao Park into a heaven on earth, as never seen before. The festival offered the visitors a vibrant and kaleidoscopic experience of cultural elements across many media and formats like Performing arts, Fine and traditional arts, Culinary arts, visual and digital art, art installations, interactive art and contemporary art. The event was open to all the people from aged 6 to 90 years and was inspired by the desire of painting one’s emotions on the canvas.

Speaking on this event, Mr. S N Ashoka, Managing Trustee, Vande Matharam Social & Cultural Organization says, “These hours dedicated to art will transcend all barriers of language and physical abilities. It is guided by our emotions and therefore a simple way to relaxation and an opening of our senses. Through this 1.5 hours dedicated to painting, we are providing people, irrespective of age and ability, a common platform of expression.”

Crowds continued to throng to the Colorothon Festival in Krishna Rao Park. With more than 50 stalls, Bangalore’s first large-scale Colour festival devoted solely to the arts, both visual and visually impaired people, has attracted not only art-lovers but local residents and visitors from all over Bangalore and beyond.

The festival, executive  by the Breath Entertainment, a  Entertainment organization, opened to a packed day on the occasion of Republic Day. The main attraction of the day was visually impaired people participating in full enthusiasm accompanied by many other famous artists  Bike Rally by RD 350 Biker Club, Drums Circle by Drums Event India  and may more entertainment. Republic day began with inaugural  of the ceremony and National Anthem Along with Flag Hosting by Senior Citizens.

Mr. Kishore Joseph, Director – Breathe Entertainment, who conceptualized this whole event along with his team says, “Our moods and daily life are best depicted in colours. This event served to bring together all ages of people and all emotions onto a single piece of paper.Art has always cut across inhibitions and allows people to be their true selves. Choosing Republic Day for the event is our way of attempting to bring people together.”

While many artistic performances going on there was no Entry Fee for the rest of the festival, something that has assured that people keep streaming in. Cultural performances will also included magic shows and Kids Favourite Chota Bheem, Chutki & Mighty Raju Characters kept moving around the venue making the event much more alive.

One of the Kids Parents happily said “It’s great that we have an arts and colour festival right here in Bangalore. It’s very rare to have these events for our kids”. This sentiment was echoed by several Parents.

Over 50 local and national artists showcased their work and made all the kids more enthusiastic for the festival. The 200 best drawings will be auctioned to raise funds for the Blind school.

Among different age groups, People who won the hearts of judges were titled as Colorothon Winners. Best Painting Titles in 9 years category were given to HRITHIKETH(4th Standard),VARINI. R(1st Standard), SAINDHAVI PRASANNA(1st Standard). For 10-12 Yeras category Winners are AMRUTHAMSH. A (5th Standard), SUCHETHA. S, SHREYAS H.K.(5th Standard) and for 13-20 Years Category it followed with SANJAY N. MURTHY(8th Standard), SHUBHIKA DILIP MALARA, SANCHITH S.R.(9th Standard). Among the Higher age Group of 21-30 Years category Best Paintings titles followed with BIKASH CHANDRA SENAPATHI, BEERESH H.K, BASWARAJU K.J.. The Senior Group category saw K.MADHUSUDHAN (54 Years), SHIVAKANT SHEKAR (32 Years), DEEPA K.KALE (31 Years) in best colors.
