Largest Śrī Bagalamukhi Devi Idol Consecrated at New Bengaluru Temple
BENGALURU, August 13, 2026 — Sri Maha Vidya Peetam celebrated the Astabandhana Maha Kumbhabhisekam of the newly constructed Sri Bagalamukhi Devi Temple today in Bukkasagara, Bengaluru.
The temple features the world’s largest Śrī Bagalamukhi Devi vigraha, standing 7 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 1.2 tons, marking a monumental milestone for Śākta devotees and Mahavidya sādhakas.
Key Highlights & Consecration Details
- Officiating Priests: The sacred rituals were led by Sri Markandan, Mahant of Trichy’s Vekkali Amman Mandir, alongside Acarya Sri Ramakrishna Ganapadigal of Kumbakonam.
- Sacred Rites: The consecration concluded through traditional Prana-pratistha, mantra, homa, abhiseka, and Astabandhana rituals, establishing a permanent center for devī darśana, worship, and spiritual transformation.
Significance of Śrī Bagalamukhi Devi As one of the Daśa Mahāvidyās (Ten Great Wisdom Goddesses), Sri Bagalamukhi represents stambhana—the divine capability to still and neutralize negative external forces. Beyond offering protection and inner strength against external adversity, her power serves an internal spiritual purpose: stilling anger, fear, uncontrolled speech, and the restless mind.
The temple’s establishment was made possible through the blessings of Sri Satgurudev, the Guru Paramparā, and Sri Bagalamukhi Devi.
