Arun Singh’s foray into business started while he was in college itself. He and his best friend Ayesha Amaan started a small canteen outside the BMS college campus in Bangalore. His parents used to take care of his basic living expenses and whatever money he earned from the canteen helped him to enjoy the small things in life. In this way, he was a self-made person right from his college days. He married early even as he was pursuing studies as per the tradition in Bihar where early marriages are the norm. His wife came from an aristocratic background with her family running a business venture with the King of Bhutan. A year after his marriage, Arun Singh finished his graduation and got a job in TCS as a software engineer earning Rs.12,000/- a month which was not sufficient to run the family.

Subsequently he along with his friend and now business partner Ayesha Amaan went into real estate business on a part time basis. Once they learnt the nitty gritty of the business, they decided to start their own company called the Aryan Real Estate in a 200 sq ft premises in 2005 with one driver and two partners. The first three years they were marketing for other builders and used to make business through brokerages and just breaking even. In 2008 end, they audaciously ventured into their own project with 45 acre land in Chickballapur and sold 900 residential sites which was very profitable. That was the turning point in their life and ever since their company never looked back, and started many more projects. The company built a strong relationship with the buyers and a formidable reputation in the market due to their transparent and sincere style of functioning.

Talking about his present and future plans Arun Singh said that currently they are setting up a Coffee Estate in Chickmagalur in partnership with Shri CMR Shankar Reddy, and have plans to venture into power sector in days to come. Other ambitious plans include constructing affordable housing and studio apartments ranging from Rs. 8 lakhs onwards, on the principle that every common man should be able to own a house for himself be it Auto Drivers, daily wagers and below average income people ,with tie ups from reputed bankers to fund the same.  Currently the Aaryan Group is operating in 3 States viz. Karnataka, Bihar and Madhya Predesh with125 employees.

Today most of their projects are sold before their completion, said Arun Singh, adding that such is the confidence the customers have in their company.

Arun Singh’s dream project is to find a solution for home alone senior citizens and wants to start “Senior Citizen’s Club”. As he

explains, nowadays in Bangalore we find more of nuclear families and after education, the children are pouched by the IT companies and get a easy chance to go abroad where they eventually settle down leaving their parents all alone in India. Money is not the criteria for those left alone parents. The big question for them is entertainment, healthy lifestyle and atmosphere. They feel outdated when they go to shopping malls, theatres, hotels, pubs and public places as they cannot cope with the younger generation with the way they are dressed up and behavioral changes and are embarrassed to get along and are sidelined most of the time. A permanent solution for all this could be the Senior Citizens Club which will ensure that they live peacefully without compromising on their happiness. The club will have all the basic amenities such as swimming pool, medical facially, yoga centre, entertainment, library, indoor games, shopping facility, prayer hall with minimal annual membership and a 24/7 help line to meet all their needs at their doorsteps.  “All that I need is just one and half acre land within city limit, we are open for joint ventures and like-minded, NGOs can also join hands to set up this dream project. We are also pitching in with state government to initiate this project. We have already found a place in Patna and will soon be implementing this as a Pilot project,” Arun Singh said.

Arun Singh also pointedly acknowledged that Karnataka was one of the most friendliest places in the country and Kannadigas were very warm and hospitable and welcoming to people from any part of the country.
