AYESHA AMAAN : AN ENDURING PASSION TO SERVE THE SOCIETY
MT NEWS: People who impact society through their life are not always breaking news. There are those who work silently, though their work is recognized nationally and globally. Ayesha Amaan and her colleagues at Aaryan Foundation, symbolize that rare spirit of service to society.
Ayesha Amaan’s life is a story waiting to be told. Born in Pirana in Jhalawar District, Rajasthan, she ran away from a child marriage when she was 14 to make her own way. With the help of few distant relatives Ayesha did her graduation in Microbiology, and went on to do her MBA in HR & Marketing and Masters in Geography, bagging scholarships and taking tuitions to support her studies. She then set up her own real estate company and ten years later, Ayesha was now presiding over a business with net worth of over Rs 200 cr. It was then she reconnected with her parents – as an accomplished woman of learning and substance. If this reflected her doughty spirit, what she went on to achieve was nothing short of remarkable.
Ayesha set up the Aaryan Foundation, a Trust dedicated to empowering the underprivileged sections of society, as the COO & Treasurer, along with Sri Arun Kumar Singh, President, Ahsan Khan, VP, and Achinto Kumar Sen, and Rakesh Rattan, Trustees. The Aaryan Foundation is a CSR arm of the Aaryan Group which has diversified business interests, which is headed by Ayesha Amaan as the MD & CEO.
Based on Ayesha ’s belief that only education can transform the living conditions of the poor, the Aaryan Foundation focus is on providing learning opportunities, food and clothing to poor children.

Sri Mahesh Jadev in Belguam provides free food shelter and education to them. Some of these kids have been picked up from the roadside gutters, abandoned by their helpless parents involved in immoral deeds. Besides working with old age homes, the Aadhar House through Aaryan Foundation provides free medicines to 500 children every month in Belgaum. The Foundation has donated refrigerators, home appliances and other utility articles to the needy.
With a fierce passion in her eyes, Ayesha says is on a mission. As she explains, if you change 100 lives, those people in turn will change a thousand lives, and they will in turn change lacs of people.
Ayesha is also a fervent nationalist. As she points out, many people have come up to her and asked her why she is not involved in charity work in her home state, Rajasthan, which is more poor than Karnataka. “Karnataka is my karmabhoomi. I made my success and fame in Karnataka. So I am showing my gratitude to the people of Karnataka by taking care of the underprivileged here. Moreover, as far as I am concerned, the whole of India belongs to us and these things of contributing to X state or Y state do not really matter.”

For Ayesha , Aadhar House is her second home and she makes it a point to spend some time with the HIV children in Belgaum every month.
Soon, awards started pouring in for Ayesha for her outstanding work in the service of the society viz. the Indian Achievers Award 2010, Women Leaders of India Award 2011, re-nominated once again for NDTV Women Leaders of India Award, nominated for Asia 21 Young Leadership Award, where 21 Individuals from 26 countries have been short-listed, etc.
Future plans include shifting the Aadhar House and Ashakiran to own premises on land to be given by the Government (for which request has been made), and donating land to Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled to start an Old Age Home in Chickballapur.
Recently, Ayesha spent Holi with the visually impaired boys and girls of Samarthanam Trust and hosted a dinner for them.

Ayesha , one of India’s inspiring woman achievers, has dreams still in her. Like for instance, a biography she wants to pen on some of India’s IAS Toppers.
Her philosophy is simple and different. As she says, “I don’t believe in jo jeeta wahi sikander. I believe in jo jeeya wahi sikander.”
