Youth, Let’s Tackle this UN’s Goal Together-Women Empowerment

With close to half the population in the world as women, and 196 countries in the world we are still talking about ‘being equal’ to the other half of the world’s population. There’s no country that has achieved gender equality today. Women Empowerment is continuing to be one of the global goals that is yet to be achieved for the simple fact that we all need to arise to accept that it needs to be addressed prior to attaining gender equality.

There are several challenges that women across various cultures and nationalities are facing across the globe right from right to education, health & safety, and poverty to name a few. The United Nations reckons Gender Equality is one of the major global goals (Sustainable Development Goals – SDG) we should work upon. With World Merit, the organization that focuses on bringing the world’s youth together to create a positive impact to the world we live in, the UN SDGs are aggressively being spread across the globe to not only create an awareness, but to Act in every capacity and resource each one can leverage.

Amongst the 17 SDGs that the UN has announced, Gender Equality stands as Goal 5 focusing on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. World Merit’s initiative Merit360 will bring in their power packed team at World Merit along with 17 Residential Experts to lead each goals and mentor the 360 meritorious youth from more than a 180 countries in which it has its presence in to tackle these goals.

The men need to rise above patriarchy, and the women need to change from within to feel no less than any male and release dependency.” About the road ahead, she aims to work with the team to initially create awareness and seek support from as many influencers, associations and entities.
